Fine art auctioneer

Fine art auctioneer

The foundation of Auction Legacy is rooted in hosting fine art auctions.  Classically trained and with experience spanning literally hundreds of art auctions, there is not a more experienced or effective fine art auctioneer available today.  In the past art gallery owners, and art dealers were forced to hire “traditional auctioneers” who lack the experience, finesse, charisma, and art education needed for fine art auctions.  But now, to the delight of art gallery owners, artists, art dealers, and charitable organizations Auction Legacy is available to provide a fine art auctioneer for your event.

Our skilled fine art auctioneers have conducted exclusive private art auctions for some of the world’s most renowned artists, for some of the largest art dealers in the world, as well as privately owned retail art galleries.  We have hosted and managed auctions across the United States and Europe.

A distinctive feature of Auction Legacy’s fine art auctioneer program is versatility.  We have hosted fine art auctions almost anywhere; in the private homes and studio’s of artists, in small private retail galleries, in grand ballrooms at such venues as the Ritz Carlton and Waldorf Astoria, we have even done auctions on a private yacht.

We can adapt to your venue, your art, and develop an auction program designed specifically to benefit youand your clients.

No venue or event is too large or small.  We have hosted auctions that many times grossed millions of dollars to much smaller events grossing $10-$20 thousand dollars.

The best part of hiring your fine art auctioneer from Auction Legacy is experience.  We will consult you throughout the entire planning phase, assist with marketing ideas, venue preparation, and, of course  event execution.

If you are looking to acquire the services of a fine art auctioneer for your event, Auction Legacy is the most experienced, professional, and effective fine art auctioneer available.

The Vancouver summer auction season kicked off in fine form Thursday night with several record-breaking sales as Heffel Fine Art Auction House held its Fine Canadian Art sale. Sales totalled $11.5-million.

Among the highlights for Heffel: a gorgeous 21.6 centimetre by 26.7 centimetre oil-on-panel sketch by Tom Thomson sold for $1.15 million (including buyer’s premium) – not a record bid for a Thomson, but hundreds of thousands of dollars more than the estimate provided by the auction house.

Tamarack Swamp (Sketch #5), once owned by the artist’s sister, was among the most anticipated lots of the evening.

“[It's] the second highest Thomson to sell at auction and far exceeded the low estimate by two-and-a-half times,” the art auctioneer  said after the approximate three hour auction.
